MAPONICS SPATIAL API - Neighborhood Data Now in Beta

MAPONICS SPATIAL API - Neighborhood Data Now in Beta

API Access to All Maponics Neighborhood, ZIP Code and Carrier Route Data to be Available in March

Norwich, Vt. (PRWEB) February 3, 2009 -- Maponics LLC, the leading provider of neighborhood boundary data, today announced the beta release of the MAPONICS SPATIAL API - Neighborhood Data™ to selected existing customers. With this move, Maponics becomes the first data development company to deliver its entire neighborhood dataset via an application programming interface (API), including all neighborhood boundaries (http://www.maponics.com/Neighborhood_Boundaries/neighborhood_boundaries.html?source=PR_02_03_09). This database covers 60,000 (and growing) neighborhoods in over 2,300 U.S. and Canadian cities.

Maponics' neighborhood map data is already used by industry giants such as infoUSA, Dominion Enterprises (eNeighborhoods and Homes.com) and Citysearch. The introduction of the MAPONICS SPATIAL API - Neighborhood Data will mean that even more companies involved in local search, real estate, targeted marketing and social media can access premier neighborhood data (http://www.maponics.com/Neighborhood_Data/neighborhood_data.html?source=PR_02_03_09) and postal data on a transactional basis. This is an attractive option for businesses looking to minimize the internal resources allocated to managing complex spatial data.

Maponics expects to announce full API availability for all of its datasets in March 2009. At that point every new customer will have the choice of API access or quarterly data deliveries in one of many file formats. Datasets offered via the API will include boundaries and information for all neighborhoods, ZIP Codes and postal carrier routes in the United States.

Specific queries supported will include:

•    List of neighborhoods closest to a location point

•    Neighborhood in which a latitude and longitude point or typed address falls

•    List of neighborhoods within a city, ZIP Code or state

•    Neighborhood boundary (ready to map latitude and longitude points) surrounding a given address or location point

•    Many more, including custom data retrievals related to neighborhoods, ZIP Codes, and carrier routes

"I know many companies have been eager to find a low-overhead, transaction-based system for getting our high-quality neighborhood map data," says Darrin Clement, president and CEO of Maponics. "With the robust functionality of our neighborhood data API, and the various pricing packages, we've removed the traditional hurdles so that just about any organization can start improving their geo-targeting."

Businesses believing they would benefit from access to the MAPONICS SPATIAL API - Neighborhood Data should contact VP of Sales Mark Friend at 800.762.5158 or api-info (at) maponics (dot) com.
